What to expect

Amandus is the fine-dining restaurant of Chef Deivydas Praspaliauskas, repeatedly elected one of Lithuania's best chefs, set in an intimate basement room at Užupio g. 22 on the edge of the Užupis quarter. Dinner here is treated as theatre: a story-driven, multi-course tasting menu where each member of the team contributes to the narrative over a long, unhurried evening that often runs three hours or more. The restaurant is recognised in the MICHELIN Guide and is regularly cited as offering outstanding value for cooking of this level.

The seasonal tasting menu changes monthly and is the primary reason to come. It is priced at €100 per person, or €150 with a wine pairing; the set includes a welcome drink, water through the meal and coffee or tea after. Tasting dinners are typically served Wednesday to Saturday from 19:00, and advance reservation is essential. Diners single out dishes such as the duck breast and the playfully named 'Hedgehog in the fog' dessert. An attached Amandus GOURMET shop sells house-made broths, spices and other products to take home.
