What to expect

Daržo dubuo (its name means 'garden bowl') is a small but cosy plant-based café at Tuskulėnų g. 15A in the Žirmūnai district, north of the centre. It's something of a hidden gem, with only a few tables inside and a terrace for warmer days, and the home-like, almost therapeutic atmosphere — plus exceptionally warm, personal service — is a big part of why regulars adore it. Orders are placed and paid for at the counter, and the space is pet-friendly.

The kitchen does fresh, healthy, flavourful vegan food, anchored by a colourful seasonal vegetable bowl that rotates monthly. Beyond the bowls you'll find plant-based toasts, sushi rolls, smoothies and specialty coffee, along with healthy-style desserts — some made without flour, lactose, gluten or added sugar. The bowls, desserts and coffee are the most-praised orders. It's a feel-good stop for a light, wholesome meal away from the tourist trail, and reliably converts sceptics who 'don't usually do vegan'.
