The short version
  • A dessert house built around one idea: the pavlova, with around ten variations and three customizable sweetness levels.
  • Meringues baked fresh on-site and mini cakes assembled to order in minutes — best enjoyed in, as they don't travel well.
  • A cozy, bright, elegant room that's both family-friendly and pet-friendly.
  • Weekend afternoon-tea service (from about €25 per person, advance booking) and private dessert-making workshops.

What it is

Pavlova is a mono-concept café devoted to the meringue-based dessert it's named for, and many in Vilnius will tell you it makes the best pavlova in town. The desserts are praised for being light and perfectly balanced rather than cloying — meringues are baked fresh on the premises and mini cakes assembled to order in a few minutes, and you can choose from three levels of sweetness.

The menu runs through creative flavours alongside the classic: tiramisu, pistachio, passion fruit and seasonal variations, plus a Napoleon cake and a serious selection of teas and good coffee. Because the delicate creations don't travel well, this is a place to sit in and enjoy rather than take away.

Good to know

Pavlova sits a little outside the centre on Verkių gatvė, in a shopping-centre location it makes the most of with a cozy, bright, elegant room. It's explicitly family-friendly and pet-friendly. A traditional afternoon-tea service runs on weekends, lasting roughly one and a half to two hours and starting from around €25 per person — book in advance. The café also hosts private dessert-making workshops. Some diners find prices on the higher side, and individual dessert prices aren't published online, so it's worth confirming when you order.

  • Address: Verkių g. 31A, Vilnius (a short ride north of the Old Town).
  • Afternoon tea served on weekends; reserve ahead. Hours can change — check before visiting.
  • Dine-in is best: the desserts are made to order and don't keep for takeaway.
