Family-run Argentinian flavour on Gedimino Avenue

La Empanada is a small, family-run Argentinian spot that travellers and locals rave about, set inside the casual G9 food hall at Gedimino pr. 9, right on Vilnius's main boulevard. Run by a friendly couple from Argentina, it earns its loyal following with homemade quality, warm and personal service, and portions so generous that many dishes are easily shared.

The cooking is the real thing: flavourful empanadas in the namesake tradition, famously huge milanesas (the Napolitana, breaded and topped, is a crowd-pleaser), and sweet finishes like churros and dulce-de-leche-filled alfajores. You can even buy a jar of dulce de leche to take home. Vegetarian and gluten-free options are available, and because everything is made fresh to order, expect a short wait of roughly 10–15 minutes at busy times.

Good to know

This is a relaxed food-court setting rather than a sit-down restaurant, which makes it an easy, affordable lunch or casual dinner stop while exploring the centre. The fresh-to-order approach means it's worth ordering and then settling in to wait a few minutes for the food.

Delivery is available via Wolt. Confirm current opening hours through the G9 food hall or the venue's own channels before visiting, as food-hall hours can change seasonally.
