The short version
  • Street-food-inspired dishes drawing on Japanese, Korean and Thai cooking.
  • Cosy, stylish 'friends' restaurant' feel in the heart of the Old Town.
  • Creative cocktails, some with a story behind them.
  • Generous portions that reward sharing — and good value for it.
  • On Šv. Ignoto g. 14; popular and often fully booked, so reserve ahead.

Asian street food in the Old Town

Ryžių Jūra brings a relaxed Asian-fusion menu to the centre of Vilnius, drawing on the street-food traditions of Japan, Korea and Thailand. The cooking is built for sharing: portions run large, so a table tends to order broadly and pass plates around. Ramen and the sushi and maki are the reliable anchors — some diners rate the sushi among the best in Lithuania — while pork tongue and a properly aromatic Tom Yum add range for the more adventurous.

The setting is half the appeal. It is cosy and stylish with a warm 'friends' restaurant' atmosphere, and the staff are a recurring highlight in reviews — friendly, attentive and genuinely knowledgeable, happy to steer you through the menu and the creative cocktail list, where several drinks come with a story attached. Save room for the jiggly panna cotta cat dessert, a playful, much-photographed way to finish.

Good to know

Ryžių Jūra is popular and frequently fully booked, so reserving is essential, especially at weekends. Because portions are generous, it pays to ask the staff for recommendations and order to share rather than over-ordering per person. Most diners rave about the flavour, though a few note occasional inconsistency — worth keeping in mind without letting it put you off.

It sits centrally on Šv. Ignoto g. 14 in the Old Town, making it an easy add to an evening of wandering. Confirm current hours and book through the venue's own channels before you go.
