M. K. Čiurlionis House
The M. K. Čiurlionis House (M. K. Čiurlionio namai) is a small memorial museum dedicated to Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875–1911), the painter and composer who remains Lithuania's most cherished artistic figure. It occupies a building in the Old Town, on Savičiaus gatvė, connected to the artist's life in the city, and was established as a house-museum in the 1990s. The space is now cared for by the family, which is part of what gives it such a personal, lived-in feel.

What visitors remember most is the atmosphere rather than the collection. The artworks on display are reproductions, but the magic of the place lies in its intimacy: cosy rooms, a home-like mood and a genuine sense of connection to Čiurlionis's world, where painting and music were always intertwined. The house regularly hosts classical music concerts, book presentations, film evenings and other cultural events, so checking the programme before you visit can turn a quiet stop into a memorable evening.
A standout for many is the immersive Virtual Reality film, which lets you step inside the artist's symbolist imagery — a thoughtful, modern complement to the historic surroundings. Because this is a small, family-run space, opening hours and the events calendar are best confirmed directly before visiting.
