What to expect

Pavlova is a single-minded dessert café built around one thing done extremely well — the pavlova — and many regulars rate it the best in Vilnius. The desserts are praised for being light, fresh and balanced rather than cloying: the meringues are baked on-site and the mini cakes assembled to order in a matter of minutes, and you can even choose from three sweetness levels. Flavours range from a classic with fresh berries to tiramisu, pistachio and passion fruit.

Despite sitting inside a shopping centre at Verkių g. 31A, the room itself is bright, elegant and cosy — a genuine little retreat. Because the creations are so delicate they do not travel well, this is a place to sit in and enjoy rather than take away. It is family-friendly and pet-friendly, and the welcome is part of the appeal.

Good to know

Beyond walk-in desserts, Pavlova offers private dessert-making workshops and a traditional weekend afternoon-tea service that needs to be booked in advance. Good coffee and a wide tea selection round out the menu. Some visitors find prices on the higher side, and individual dessert prices are not published online, so check current rates with the café when you book a workshop or afternoon tea.
