Table Hill (Stalo kalnas)

Table Hill (Stalo kalnas) is a beloved local spot near the eastern edge of the Old Town, off Krivių gatvė between the centre and Užupis. Its name comes from its unusually flat, expansive top, which gives it the feel of a natural terrace — a green urban oasis where city dwellers come to spread out a picnic blanket, walk the dog, let children run, or simply lie back and relax close to the heart of the city.

Beyond everyday calm, the hill has a community life of its own. It hosts vibrant seasonal gatherings such as the Autumn Equinox celebration and informal meet-ups for New Year's fireworks, when people climb up to watch the displays over the rooftops. The light here is lovely at the edges of the day, drawing people for both sunrise and sunset.

It's an unpolished, low-key place rather than a manicured park, which is part of the charm — bring what you need and take your litter home. Note that on some sides the city views are partly screened by trees, so it's more about the open grassy space and the atmosphere than a single framed panorama. It pairs easily with a wander through nearby Užupis.
