What to expect
Just off St Michael's Street in the Old Town, the former Church of St Michael the Archangel (Šv. Mykolo bažnyčia) is one of Vilnius's most distinctive historic buildings, its façade a celebrated blend of Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Today it serves not as a working church but as the home of the Church Heritage Museum, so expect a museum visit with an admission fee rather than a place of worship.

Inside, the collection is the draw: exhibits of sacred art that include the historic Vilnius Cathedral Treasury and the largest collection of liturgical textiles in Lithuania. Reviewers find the displays and guided tours well worth the ticket, with rich historical context throughout.

Part of a wider museum complex
The Treasury here is one of three sites that make up the Church Heritage Museum, alongside the Cathedral Bell Tower and the Cathedral Crypts on Cathedral Square. The entire Cathedral treasury has been displayed at the museum since 2009. Opening days are limited and the museum is generally closed on Sundays and Mondays, so check current hours and ticket options before you go; combined tickets covering the Treasury, Bell Tower and Crypts are available.
